Born from a love of nature and storytelling through pattern, colour, and craftsmanship.
Lydia Hill Designs embeds environmental activism within beautiful everyday objects to inform, inspire and encourage mindful living. The studio reinterprets rich heritage design with a modern sensibility, aiming to balance timeless elegance with a fresh, playful energy.
Lydia Hill Designs was launched after graduating with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Textiles from Manchester School of Art, where Lydia also received a Highly Commended ‘Make it in Design’ Award. Her work has since been showcased at New Designers, The Surface Design Show and featured in publications such as The World of Interiors. Now working between London and her countryside studio in Shropshire, Lydia continues to refine her practice through an MA in Textiles at the Royal College of Art.
Inspired by endangered British wildlife and fragile ecosystems, Lydia’s work aims to both delight and inform. Each design begins as a hand-painted illustration, thoughtfully crafted to honour both beauty and meaning, often using delicate natural inks that are handmade in her studio. With a focus on bold yet refined patterns, her collections evoke a sense of joy while holding space for reflection on the natural world that inspires them.
More than decorative, her designs for interior and lifestyle serve as a quiet call to mindfulness. Many pieces are accompanied by illustrated information cards offering simple, eco-conscious tips that encourage thoughtful living and a deeper connection to the environment.
Sustainability being at the heart of Lydia Hill Designs. Collections are developed using high-quality, environmentally conscious materials and produced in collaboration with ethical UK-based manufacturers. Products are printed with non-toxic dyes, plastic-free, and made with recycled content, with each order also planting a tree through our partnership with Ecologi.
"By weaving environmental awareness into every design, I hope to spark meaningful conversations and a greater appreciation for the world around us. With each piece, I seek to share nature’s joy, highlight its fragility, and celebrate its intricate beauty. Whilst also taking steps towards helping preserve it, one design at a time."
